New Day Campaign Receives a Health Equity Leadership Award from Baltimore City Health Department

Published: August 30, 2016

On August 30, the New Day Campaign received the Baltimore City Health Equity Leadership Award from Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen. The award was presented at the Healthy Baltimore 2020 Community Conversation at the Druid Hill Y.

Healthy Baltimore 2020 is the Baltimore City Health Department's strategic blueprint for health. Its vision is to significantly reduce health disparities in the City over the next decade. A series of Community Conversations will serve as a forum to discuss the goals and initiatives of this blueprint alongside community partners.

The August 30 Community Conversation was the first in the series, and focused on Behavioral Health (mental health + substance use).  Dr. Wen spotlighted innovative behavioral health models across our city, including the New Day Campaign. The New Day Campaign is honored to have our work celebrated as a promising model for addressing mental health and substance use problems and achieving health equity.
